Organic Tomato Chutney (for West Texas BBQ Gourmet Nutburger)

  • 2 Tablespoons
    Organic Olive Oil
  • 28 Ounces
    chopped, seeded organic tomatoes (I use heirloom)
  • 1 Cup
    Organic sweet Vidalia onion, chopped
  • 1/2
    organic jalapeno, seeded with membranes removed, chopped (use less if you don’t want a kick)
  • 1/2 Cup
    organic apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup
    Organic brown sugar or Coconut Nectar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    fresh organic thyme
  • 1/8 Teaspoon
    organic allspice
  • 1/8 Teaspoon
    organic black pepper
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
    Sea Salt


  1. In large saucepan over medium heat, heat oil

  2. When hot, add onion, tomatoes and jalapeno

  3. Saute, stirring to prevent any burning

  4. Add additional ingredients and bring to boil and then turn down to simmer

  5. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chutney has a thick consistency for 60-90 minutes until most of liquid is gone, leaving a thick but not dry consistency
